LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Dayton volleyball team closed out the opening weekend of the season with a 3-0 (17-25, 14-25, 19-25) loss at No. 25 Louisville Sunday afternoon. It was the final match of the Louisville Cardinal Classic held at UofL's L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.
Dayton is now 0-3 on the season while Louisville improves to 2-1 overall.
KEY STATS
• 12 - for the third-consecutive match, sophomore
Jamie Peterson led all attackers with her 13 kills. She also tallied four digs, three service aces and one solo block.
• 13 - sophomore
Maura Collins was the match's leading passer with 13 digs
• 6 - the Flyers and Cardinals were even with six aces apiece but UofL won the battle of the block, 6.0-4.0
UP NEXT
Dayton will play a single mid-week contest at Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday. First serve between the Flyers and RedHawks is set for 7 p.m. at Miami's Millett Hall.
