Men’s Soccer Upsets No. 20 West Virginia

Jituboh Scored The Gamewinner In The 65th Minute

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over No. 20 West Virginia on Saturday night, picking up the 500th victory in program history.

The Flyers (3-4-0) keep their momentum going and recorded their first road win of the season as the Mountaineers (4-2-1) suffered their second loss.

  • Junior Wariebi Jituboh broke the deadlock in the 65th minute as he beat the keeper to the left side, off the assist by sophomore Elias Harryson.
  • Just two minutes later, freshman Toluwalase Oladeinbo doubled Dayton's lead with his fourth goal of the season with a header from the cross by senior Cole Watkins.
  • Dayton outshot WVU in the game, 13-11 and put five on target compared to the hosts' one attempt on frame.
  • Junior Jonas Fjeldberg and Oladeinbo tied for the team lead with four shots, two on target.
  • The Flyers have outscored opponents 7-0 in the past two games.
