DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team split its matches on the first day of the Dayton Invitational hosted by the Flyers at Frericks Center. Dayton downed Northern Illinois, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-20) before dropping its nightcap, 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 16-25, 10-25), to Missouri.
Dayton moves to 2-4 on the season while Northern Illinois finished the day at 2-4 as well. Missouri picked up two wins on day one of the Dayton Invitational and is now 3-0.

Jamie Peterson averaged 4.57 kills/set over the Flyers two matches today including a match-high 14 kills vs. Northern Illinois and a team-high 18 kills vs. Missouri

Maura Collins was the team's leading passer on the day, averaging 2.57 digs/set, including a match-high 10 digs to go with four aces against Northern Illinois
• .413 - as a team, Dayton was swinging at a season-high .413 against Northern Illinois

Alli Papesh was serving tough against Missouri, collecting a career-high four aces

Dayton will close out its home invitational Saturday with a 7 p.m. match-up against No. 14 Michigan. The match is slated as a Red Out - wear red to support the Flyers! Free t-shirts to the first 1,000 fans. First serve between the Flyers and Wolverines is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free.
