DAYTON– The University of Dayton women's basketball team won their sixth straight game on Wednesday with a 54-41 win against Duquesne.
The Flyers (11-7, 4-0 A-10) stay unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play while the Dukes (11-6, 1-3 A-10) fall for the third time in four games.
KEY MOMENT
Julia Chandler went on her own 8-0 run over 1:45 in the first quarter to give the Flyers a 14-5 lead. The Flyers would not relinquish the lead the rest of the night.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 14, Duquesne 7
- Back-to-back baskets by Kyla Whitehead and Erin Whalen gave the Flyers a 6-2 lead at the 4:22 mark.

- The Dukes were held to just six points in the quarter, the second quarter in the game in which they were held under 10 points.
- The Flyers defense forced more turnovers than allowed field goals, forcing five turnovers while giving up just three baskets.
4th Quarter: Dayton 54, Duquesne 41
- Dayton took their largest lead of the game at the 9:03 mark and matched that mark one other time.
- Whalen scored five points in the quarter to give her double-figures (11) on the game.
- Duquesne went on a 13-0 run over 3:50 to trim the margin, but the Flyer lead was insurmountable.
