Box Score MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's tennis team downed Wright State 5-2 Friday night at the South Regency Tennis Center.

Dayton (1-4) picked up the doubles point as No. 2 doubles pair Matt DeMarco and Jayman Jhattu easily won 6-3 and No. 1 doubles pair Connor Bruce and Joe DeMarco won 6-4 to capture the point.

Bruce, a freshman, picked up his first collegiate win with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles.

Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Georgi Mavrodiev put the Flyers up 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 4 singles spot. Jhattu clinched the match for UD with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5. Matt DeMarco also won for the Flyers, coming back strong from a 6-1 loss in the first set to win the second and third sets, 6-3, 6-3.

The Flyers are back in action Saturday, Feb. 1 vs. Lipscomb at 5:30 p.m. back at South Regency Tennis Center.
