HOUSTON - The University of Dayton softball team dropped two games on its second day of play at the 2020 Houston Classic Saturday evening. In the first game of the day, Oregon State came from behind to best Dayton, 3-1, before 21st-ranked Oregon downed UD, 18-3, in the nightcap. All games are being played at Houston's Cougar Softball Stadium.
Dayton is now 2-7 on the season. Oregon State improved to 6-1 overall while Oregon headed into its game against Houston with an unblemished 7-0 mark.
KEY STATS

Ellie Ziegler was a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI and tallied 11 putouts against Oregon State
• 4-for-4 - the Flyers were a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases on the day
• HR - senior
Julia Blarr sent a ball over the fence in the bottom of the fifth inning against Oregon, her second homer of the season. Blarr is one of three Flyers with multiple home runs.

Dayton will close out play at the Houston Classic Sunday morning against Oregon. First pitch between the Flyers and Ducks is set for 10:30 a.m. ET Feb. 16 at Cougar Softball Stadium.
