DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team remained undefeated in conference play and with a 50-44 victory over the George Washington Colonials.
Dayton (20-7, 13-0 A-10) won its 14th consecutive game while George Washington (11-15, 5-8 A-10) lost its third game in five contests.

Shakeela Fowler hit a three-pointer at 7:31 to spark the comeback vs. George Washington. Following that,
Erin Whalen added two three-pointers of her own to give the Flyers the lead.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 17 , George Washington 3
- Erin Whalen scored the first five points for the Flyers.
- The Flyers went on a 10-0 run after George Washington made the first bucket. The Flyers held the Colonials without a point for 4:56.
- Dayton held the Colonials to only one field goal during the quarter which resulted in a commanding 17-3 lead at the end of the quarter.

- The Colonials outscored the Flyers 11 to six in the quarter, trimming the Flyers lead to 23-14 heading into halftime.
- Kyla Whitehead grabbed six rebounds in the half to lead the Flyers, including three in the 2nd quarter.
- Jayla Scaife led the team in assists, dishing out two of them.
- The Flyers had 12 points in the paint compared to the Colonials' eight points.

3rd Quarter: Dayton 31, George Washington 36
- The Colonials went on a 10-2 run to cut the Flyer's lead to 25-24.
- Following the media timeout, the Colonials continued their run, hitting a three-pointer to give them their first lead since 9:08 which was part of a Colonials 13-0 run
- Dayton struggled from the field, shooting only 4-of-12 (33 percent) from the field while not being able to convert from behind the arc.
- Three Flyers scored during the half, with Scaife in the lead with seven points.
- George Washington had eight assists in the quarter compared to Dayton's two.
4th Quarter: Dayton 50, George Washington 44
- The teams traded buckets throughout the first six minutes of the quarter as the Flyers cut the Colonials' lead to 40-38 at the final media timeout.
- Shakeela Fowler and Erin whalen both hit big three-pointers to end the Flyers' scoring drought.
- Erin Whalen hit a three right after the media timeout with 3:59 remaining to give the Flyers a 43-42 lead, a lead they would never relinquish.
- The Flyers finished the game with a 14-2 run, holding the Colonials to shooting 4-of-17 (24 percent) from the field in the quarter.
- Shakeela Fowler hit two big free-throws with 37 seconds remaining to ice the game.
