DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will look to improve to 2-0 in conference play with a weekend matchup with George Washington on Friday at 7 p.m. at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
The Flyers will also take on Northern Kentucky at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Dayton took down IUPUI 4-3 last weekend, with
Connor Bruce earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after clinching the match with a win in No. 1 singles.
George Washington enters the weekend 2-4 after having lost three straight matches. The Colonials did also beat Duquesne to open conference play as both schools now stand 1-0 in Atlantic 10 play.
Zicheng Zeng has played well for George Washington this season, sitting 3-1 at No. 2 singles for the Colonials.
Northern Kentucky has won three consecutive matches after taking down both Eastern Illinois and Chicago State last weekend.
The Norse have excelled in No. 3 singles this season, going 5-1 overall in the flight. Andrew Niehaus has set the pace at 4-1 for Northern Kentucky.
