Box Score MIAMISBURG – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell to Cleveland State 5-2 on Friday morning at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
The Flyers opened the match by dropping the doubles point at No. 1 and No. 2.
Dayton managed to take two points in dual singles with
Kelly Pleiman downing Blanche Lenoan in No. 2 singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
Mary Brascia also took the No. 6 singles, as Cleveland State only played five to account for the second Flyer point.
Two other flights went to three sets with
Paige Kompa dropping in three in No. 1 singles.
Natalie Allen also took her match to a deciding frame in the No. 4 flight.
"We fought hard against a tough Cleveland State team and Kelly (Pleiman) had a nice win at number two," head coach
Erica Echko said. "We are looking forward to our first real road trip next weekend at the Illinois State Redbird Invitational."
That tournament will see the Flyers take on Illinois State to open the event next Saturday at 10 a.m.
