Box Score MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's tennis team fell 4-3 to George Washington in an Atlantic 10 showdown at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
"Tough loss this evening," head coach
Ryan Meyer said. "The guys played very well and showed a ton of heart but just came up short. We will learn from the experience and grow."
The Flyers started the evening by dropping the doubles point to the Colonials.
Joe DeMarco and
Connor Bruce took No. 1 doubles 6-4, Dayton fell in both No. 2 and No.3 doubles to give George Washington the lead.
The two programs split the singles points with
Connor Bruce knocking off Zicheng Zeng in No. 1 singles 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Steven Karl also won in three sets over Ben Barnett in the No. 3 singles flight. The Flyers got the last point from
Will Harper in the No. 6 match over Dennis Afanasev.
