DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated St. Bonaventure 78-51, bouncing back at UD Arena following its first conference loss.
 
Dayton (21-8, 14-1 A-10) finished undefeated at home in conference play while St. Bonaventure (7-21, 4-11 A-10) lost its fourth straight game.

KEY MOMENT
1st quarter – Kyla Whitehead made back-to-back layups to help spark a 22-0 Dayton run, giving the Flyers a 28-6 lead. Dayton led by at least 13 points for the rest of the game.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 17, St. Bonaventure 6

• The Flyers opened the game on a 6-0 run over 2:06 with baskets by Erin Whalen, Jordan Wilmoth, and Kyla Whitehead.
• The Bonnies responded with a 6-0 run of their own to tie the game at six.
• Dayton then went on an 11-0 run over 4:50 to regain the lead at 17-6.
• St. Bonaventure was held without a point for the final 5:07 of the quarter.
• Whitehead led the scoring for the Flyers with six points in the quarter.

• Jayla Scaife scored all 11 of her first half points in the quarter.
• Scaife also led the Flyers with nine rebounds.
• The Flyers outscored the Bonnies in the paint 37-22 in the half.
• Dayton outrebounded St. Bonaventure 27-17 in the half.

3rd Quarter: Dayton 55, St. Bonaventure 34

• After a first half filled with runs, both teams traded baskets for most of the quarter.
• The Flyers took their biggest lead of the quarter when Emma Skeens made a jumper to give the Flyers a 21-point lead at the 1:13 mark.
• Dayton finished the quarter on a 6-0 run over 3:22.
• Eight different Flyers scored in the quarter.
• Dayton shot 7-of-16 (43.8 percent) from the floor in the quarter.

4th Quarter: Dayton 78, St. Bonaventure 51

• Dayton took its biggest lead of the game on a 15-2 run over 4:04 to take a 72-41 lead.
• Four-year walk-on Christine Szabo made a three-point basket and scored four points in her final home game.
• Shakeela Fowler scored nine points in the quarter and 13 for the game.
• The Flyers dished out seven of their 22 assists in the quarter.
• Dayton shot 16-of-29 (55.2 percent) from the field in the second half.
