ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated Saint Louis on the road Saturday, 78-66, earning its 15
th Atlantic 10 victory of the season.
The Dayton Flyers (22-8, 15-1 A-10) tie a program record for A-10 wins while the Billikens (17-12, 9-7 A-10) host the A-10 First Round on Tuesday.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 15, Saint Louis 15
- Dayton struck first with a putback by senior Jordan Wilmoth, but she picked up two quick fouls and had to leave the game in the first 1:30.
- Saint Louis went on a run though and pulled ahead 11-6 by the media break.
- The Flyers with a five-point run and two-plus minute Billiken drought to tie the game up at 11-11 with just over two minutes to play.
- Redshirt senior Shakeela Fowler hit a runner with just a few seconds left in the quarter to tie the game up at 15-15.
- The Flyers scored 10 of their 15 points in the paint while the Billikens had nine of theirs from three.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 25, Saint Louis 21
- Dayton took a 19-16 lead off a Jenna Giacone three, forcing a SLU timeout with 7:41 on the clock.
- Saint Louis didn't get its first basket until the 2:26 mark.
- The Flyers went cold as well, not scoring for over four minutes of action.
- UD led by four at 22-18 before a foul on a three and a technical allowed five free throws to SLU.
- Freshman Mariah Perez went up on got a contested bucket to end the half and put Dayton up 25-21.
- Giacone led UD in the first half with seven points on 3-of-5 shooting while senior Jayla Scaife added four points and four boards.
- The Flyers had 14-0 points in the paint advantage and 14-0 bench points advantage.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 46, Saint Louis 41
- The Flyers and Billikens traded buckets in the early stages of the second half.
- Scaife hit a trio of threes to start for UD, forcing a SLU timeout with 6:40 to go. She became the first Flyer in double digits with 13 points at that time.
- The first four made field goals in the third came from behind the arc and 11 of the team's 14 came from Scaife.
- At the media break, Dayton led SLU 39-28.
- The Billikens managed to pull within seven at 44-37 with 1:22 to play.
- Fowler scored seven straight points for Dayton down the stretch.
- Free throws allowed the Billikens to pull within five at the end.
4th Quarter: Dayton 78, Saint Louis 66
- The Flyers tried to pull away further, but the Billikens weren't going away.
- Bradshaw got a bucket and the free throw to put the Flyers up 54-44 with 7:52 to play.
- SLU hit a three to make it a four-point game with 6:48 on the clock. They followed that up with another three to cut it to one at 56-55.
- Dayton answered with six quick points to lead 62-55 and five minutes to play.
- Saint Louis had their second post player foul out of the game as well at the 4:05 mark.
- The Flyers managed to get the lead back to nine at 69-60 with under two to go.
- Dayton hit its free throws down the stretch and clinched the victory.
