LOUISVILLE – The University of Dayton men's tennis team took down Bellarmine 5-2 on Friday afternoon in Louisville.
The victory brings the Flyers to 5-6 on the season despite dropping the doubles point to Bellarmine.
Dayton won the No. 2 doubles with
Steven Karl and
Georgi Mavrodiev getting a 6-3 victory, but couldn't take either the first or third flights.
The team bounced back, taking five of six singles matches. Mavrodiev capped off a 2-0 day with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the No. 4 singles match.
Matt DeMarco and
Will Harper also took the third singles and fifth flights in two.
Connor Bruce continued his success taking the No. 1 flight in three sets, with fellow freshman
Oliver Dunne taking the last two frames to pick up his first career dual singles victory in the sixth flight.
