GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Dayton softball team tallied nine hits in its 5-0 shutout win over Oakland Friday in the first game of the 2020 UNCG Spartan Classic. Four Flyers tallied multi-hit games as freshman Sarah Bailitz and senior Jessica Weaver combined for the shoutout in the circle.

Dayton improved to 3-8 on the season while Oakland moved to 6-4 overall.

• 2 - Cacini scored two of the team's five runs

UP NEXT
Day two of the Spartan Classic will feature games against Appalachian State and host UNCG on Saturday. The Flyers and the Mountaineers will square off at 12 p.m. and UD will take on UNCG at 5 p.m. and will be available for streaming via the SoCon Network. All games are played at UNCG Softball Stadium.
