DAVIDSON, N.C. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team battled back from a halftime deficit to pick up a 55-49 win at Davidson Wednesday night.
The Flyers (16-7, 9-0 A-10) win their 11
th straight while the Wildcats (13-9, 6-3 A-10) fall a spot in the Atlantic 10 standings.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 15, Davidson 15
- Dayton jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the opening two minutes with three points from senior Jordan Wilmoth.
- Davidson's first three points came from the free throw line.
- At the media break, the Flyers had an 11-6 lead.
- The Wildcats rallied and took a 12-11 advantage with under two minutes to play on a clutch three.
- Sophomore Kyla Whitehead converted an and-1 to put the Flyers back on top.
- Davidson hit a three at the buzzer to even the score at 15-15.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 26, Davidson 32
- The Flyers bench was assessed a technical at the end of the first so Davidson started with a pair of made free throws to take the lead.
- The Wildcats stayed ahead of the Flyers over the next few minutes, leading by three at the 6:40 mark.
- Midway through the quarter, Davidson held a 28-24 lead.
- The Wildcats pushed their lead to 32-24 in the final minute of the second.
- Seven of Davidson's nine healthy players had two fouls in the first half.
- Senior Jayla Scaife led UD with 13 points.
- The Flyers had a 16-8 points in the paint advantage while the Wildcats had a 19-6 bench point advantage.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 46, Davidson 39
- UD didn't get its first point of the second half until a free throw at the 8:32 mark.
- Neither team was able to get a field goal until Scaife hit a jumper at the 7:30 mark.
- Fouls continued to be an issue for both teams. Dayton picked up its fifth foul of the third with 6:52 still to play.
- By the media timeout, the Flyers had cut the margin to just two at 36-34.
- A three-point play by redshirt junior Erin Whalen tied the game up at 37-37 with 3:45 to play.
- She followed that up with a three from the corner and a layup to put Dayton ahead five and force a Davidson timeout with 2:37 to go. It was amidst a 15-3 run for the Flyers.
- Davidson didn't get its first field goal until the 2:01 mark, its only one of the quarter.
4th Quarter: Dayton 55, Davidson 49
- The Flyers started the fourth with a 7-2 run capped off with a three by Scaife, forcing a Wildcat timeout with 7:25 to go.
- Davidson was 2-for-14 in the second half up to the 6:00 mark.
- The Wildcats suffered from a 3:25 scoring drought.
- In the end, the margin was just too much for Davidson to overcome.
