MACON, Ga. - The University of Dayton softball team narrowly came up short against Tennessee Tech, 8-6, before besting Mercer, 9-5, on the second day of the Mercer Invitational. In the second game of the day, the Flyers knocked out three home runs while senior Mallory Kimmell went 4-for-4 at the plate.

Dayton moves to an even 2-2 on the season. Tennessee Tech is now 3-1 overall while Mercer moved to 1-2.

KEY STATS
• .750 - on the day, Kimmell went 6-for-8 at the plate with two doubles and two RBI
• 2.33 - senior pitcher Jessica Weaver allowed two earned runs over 6.0 innings of work for a 2.33 ERA in her win in the circle against Mercer
• .500 - four Flyers hit a .500 or better on the day
• 2 - junior Abby Ehrenborg knocked out two home runs, recorded two RBI, scored two runs and was walked twice and posted a 1.429 slugging percentage on the afternoon
