DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will return home for three matches this weekend, starting with Atlantic 10 foe Saint Louis on Friday at 7 p.m. at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
The Flyers will have Saturday off before returning Sunday for two matches, first with another A-10 clash with Fordham at 10 a.m. Dayton will finish the weekend by hosting Indiana Tech at 3 p.m.
Dayton is coming off a 2-1 weekend that saw
Connor Bruce win his third-consecutive Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor. It marked the sixth time this season that Dayton has taken home the top freshman of the week this season, and the fourth time for Bruce.
The other two have gone to
Georgi Mavrodiev, who is 7-2 this season in dual singles play and 6-2 in the No. 4 singles slot.
Saint Louis enters the contest 4-4 after winning on the road at Tennessee State last weekend 4-3. The Billikens feature Pavel Badaiants who has played well in No. 2 singles, going 6-1 in the flight.
Fordham is also coming off a road win after knocking off Quinnipiac 4-3 last Saturday. Jofre Segarra won both of his matches against the Bobcats, taking the No. 6 singles flight 6-0, 6-0.
Dayton will be just the second Division I opponent for Indiana Tech this season. The NAIA school is 8-3 on the season and now has won two straight matches after winning a conference match at Aquinas College 5-2 on Saturday. The Warriors are a combined 30-8 in No. 3-No. 6 singles on the year, with Jafer Infante 6-0 in dual singles matches.
