Box Score MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell in a close contest to Saint Louis 4-3 on Friday night.
The match lasted four hours, but the Flyers came up short dropping to 0-12 on the season.
The Flyers opened the match dropping the doubles point, falling in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Singles play turned into a battle with
Erica Wojcikiewicz setting the pace, taking No. 3 singles in two sets.
Paige Kompa followed that up with a win over the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week in three sets to put the Flyers up 2-1.
Emily Zargham kept the Flyers alive in No. 4 singles, breaking six match points down 5-1 in the third set to storm back and win in three sets. The Billikens would take the other three points, however, and the match 4-3.
