RICHMOND, Ky. - The University of Dayton softball team split its games Sunday at the 2020 Eastern Kentucky Invitational. Dayton got past Akron, 2-1, before falling to host EKU, 3-2, in the nightcap. Senior Julia Blarr was 3-for-6 on the day including the game-winning two-run home run in today's first game.

Dayton is now 6-12 on the season. Akron moved to 6-19 while Eastern Kentucky improved to 19-2 for the year.

Senior pitcher Jessica Weaver (5-4) earned the win in Dayton's game against Akron. She tallied a season-high eight strikeouts in her second complete game of the season. In UD's 3-2 loss to EKU, Weaver was charged with the loss after working the final five outs of the game. Freshman Sarah Bailitz was the Flyers' started against the Colonels, striking out two in 4.1 innings pitched.

• 2 - junior Abby Ehrenborg and Blarr each tallied two RBI on the day
• 3 - Blarr tallied three hits on the day including her fourth home run of the season in the first game of the day

Dayton will head to Morehead, Kentucky, for a midweek doubleheader at Morehead State Wednesday. First pitch between the Flyers and Eagles is set for 1 p.m. March 11.
