DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains at home to host Duquesne University at 12 p.m. ET at UD Arena in Atlantic 10 action. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is 2-1 on the year with wins over Morehead State on the road and a conference opening victory over St. Bonaventure Friday. The Flyers are 1-0 in the A-10 and 1-1 at UD Arena this season.
Head coach
Shauna Green is in her fifth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year last season, her second time at UD.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 67.0 points per game and holding opponents to 60.3 points each outing. Dayton is shooting 42.5 percent overall, 29.6 percent from three point range, and 65.2 percent from the free throw line. UD has a +4.0 rebounding margin and +1.7 turnover margin.

Erin Whalen who is averaging 20.0 points per game while fellow senior
Jenna Giacone is adding 9.0 points per game as well. Freshman
Makira Cook is coming off a career performance, scoring 18 points and going 3-of-4 from three off the bench.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE
Duquesne comes to Dayton with a 2-3 record on the season and 1-0 A-10 mark after defeating St. Bonaventure back on Dec. 11, 71-63. The Dukes also have a win over Saint Francis, 69-67.
Head coach Dan Burt is in his eighth season at the helm of the Dukes after previously serving as an assistant. He has over 150 wins and is just 22 wins away from being the all-time leader at Duquesne.
This year, the Dukes are scoring 65.4 points each contest and allowing 72.4 points to opposing squads. Duquesne is shooting 40.9 percent from the floor, 29.5 percent from behind the arc, and 74.0 percent from the charity stripe. The Dukes are also being outrebounded and committing more turnovers than opponents this year.
Leading the way is Amanda Kalin with 17.0 points per game while Laia Sole is adding 12.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton rode a big second quarter to a 56-47 victory over St. Bonaventure in the A-10 opener Friday.
Makira Cook led the Way with 18 points and 3-of-4 from three while fellow newcomer
Tenin Magassa had career-highs with six blocks and nine rebounds.
Duquesne suffered a 73-66 loss at Kent State on Dec. 21 after a slow second quarter saw the Dukes outscored 20-10. Laia Sole had 23 points with Amanda Kalin contributing 15 points, but it wasn't enough for the visitors.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Duquense have had a back-and-forth series with the Flyers winning 23 times while the Dukes 21 times in the 44 meetings previously. UD has won five of the last six meetings, including last year's 54-41 victory at UD Arena.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
This season the Flyers rank fourth in the nation in fewest turnovers and 14th in fewest fouls per game. Individually,
Erin Whalen ranks ninth in the country in scoring and 14th in three-point field goals per game.
Araion Bradshaw is 15th in minutes played per game in Division I.
PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites VCU and ahead of Saint Louis, Davidson, Duquesne, and Fordham. The Flyers received two first-place votes.

SHORTENED NON-CONFERENCE PLAY
The Flyers only had two non-conference games and no exhibition contests due to COVID concerns. Dayton opened the season at Morehead State on Nov. 25Â with a victory before dropping the home opener to Akron on Dec. 6.
70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 171-21 (.895) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2019-20 when reaching that mark.
