DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team returns home to host St. Bonaventure University Saturday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. It will be the Alumni Game and Coaches vs Cancer Game, which will be streamed on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton currently sits in a tie for 9th in the Atlantic 10 standings, just outside a tournament spot, with a 2-3-1 conference mark. The Flyers are 5-7-3 overall this season and 3-2-1 at home.
Head coach
Dennis Currier is in his 17th year at the helm of the Flyers and the reigning Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. UD replaces just one starter from last year's team that went on to win the A-10 regular season title with a 4-1-1 conference mark.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 1.33 goals per game and allowing 1.73 goals to opponents. Dayton is being out-shot 15.1 to 12.5 and at a higher percentage.

Kingsford Adjei, who has five goals and three assists for 13 points, and junior
Forster Ajago, who has five goals and one assist. Sophomore goalkeeper
Marc Kouadio has 63 saves in all 15 starts.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure comes to Dayton with a 3-9-1 record on the season and 2-4-0 A-10 mark. The Bonnies have lost three of their last four contests and have a 1-6 record on the road this year.
Head coach Kwame Oduro is in his seventh season with SBU and led the team to a spot in the A-10 Tournament in 2017 for the first time since 2010.
As a team, St. Bonaventure is scoring 1.23 goals per outing and giving up 2.08 to opposing squads. The Bonnies are allowing almost twice as many chances as they are taking at a 16.6 to 9.2 clip.
The top scorer for St. Bonaventure this year is Joshua Ulla with five goals to go with two assists. Matthew Wrobel has chipped in four goals and two assists, while Francesco Caorsi has a team-high four assists. Goalkeepers Trevor Wilson (seven starts, 42 saves) and Justyn Sandhu (six starts, 26 saves) have split time between the posts this season.
LAST OUTING
Dayton went on the road to Davidson and came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 double overtime draw against the Wildcats, earning a valuable A-10 point. Adjei and Ajago were on the scoresheet.
St. Bonaventure suffered a 1-2 loss at Duquesne Wednesday despite evening the score in the 37th minute with a goal from Isaac Boamah. The Bonnies were out-shot 29-17 in the contest.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and St. Bonaventure have played 22 times previously with the Flyers controlling the series with 14 wins to the Bonnies' seven. The two teams faced off twice in 2020 with UD going 1-0-1, including a 6-0 thrashing in the last meeting on April 10 at SBU.
JONES-RILEY EARNS A-10 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Junior
Jaden Jones-Riley was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 30 after his hat-trick performance in the season-opening win over UAB. He totaled seven points during the two-game stretch.
FLYERS THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was predicted to finish third in the A-10 in the 2021 preseason poll and received two first-place votes. The Flyers were picked behind conference favorites Fordham (six first-place votes) and Saint Louis (three votes), but ahead of Massachusetts and VCU (two votes).

Kingsford Adjei earning All-Conference team honors. He was the lone Flyer recognized on the team from the reigning A-10 champs.

Dayton historically has had a diverse team with players hailing from all over the globe. This season is no different with the Flyers having student-athletes from 10 different countries.
IN EXTRA TIME
Dayton has played four overtime games so far this season, going 1-0-3 in those contests. The Flyers earned a double-overtime draw with Memphis at the Wolstein Classic in Columbus, before picking up a 3-2 double-OT victory over Incarnate Word the very next outing. UD then went on to draw with Kansas City and Davidson this season.

The Flyers finish up the regular season at home on Oct. 30 against Duquesne. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. with a Senior Night ceremony taking place prior to the game.
