Women's Tennis Finishes Fall Season At Butler Invitational

The Flyers Earned Five Wins Between Singles And Doubles Play

Box Score INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Dayton women's tennis team completed the fall season at the Butler Invitational on Sunday, playing both singles and doubles matches throughout the day.
 
The Flyers opened with three doubles matches against the host Bulldogs. Junior Elizabeth Hamilton and freshman Neena Katauskas picked up a win for the Flyers over Natalie Boesing and Logan White of Butler 6-4.
 
UD then took on IUPUI for another set of three matches in doubles play and also came out with one victory. Junior Erica Wojcikiewicz and freshman Laura Greb defeated Meghan Bernard and Samantha Hayward, also by a score of 6-4.
 
Dayton finished the competition by winning three of five singles matches against competition from both Butler and IUPUI as well as Western Kentucky. Wojcikiewicz won for the second time on Sunday, this time against Taylor Shaw of WKU in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
 
Hamilton also earned another victory in singles play, taking down IUPUI's Krystal Grubb in three sets 7-6, 4-6, 10-5. Greb finished the competition for the Flyers, bouncing back after dropping the first set against Veronika Bruetting 4-6, 7-5, 10-5.
 
This marks the end of the fall season for the Flyers, and UD will next compete during the spring of 2022.
