DAYTON  – The University of Dayton Women's Basketball team used a 17-4 start to beat Toledo on Wednesday afternoon.  The Flyers were led by graduate student Jenna Giacone who had a career-high 28 points as well as seven rebounds and three assists.  Giacone was joined in double digits by graduate student Erin Whalen who had 12 points and 11 rebounds. 

KEY MOMENT
After leading by just six with 5:09 to play Jenna Giacone scored three straight baskets (seven points) to give the Flyers a 13-point lead with 3:35 remaining.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1^st Quarter: Dayton 20, Toledo 8

• The Flyers started out strong scoring on their first four possessions and jumping out to an early 10-0 lead.
• Dayton extended their lead to 14-4 at the first media timeout while holding Toledo scoreless for 5:28 during the stretch.
• This was the lowest total an opponent has scored against the Flyers in a quarter this season.

2^nd Quarter: Dayton 37, Toledo 24

• Dayton continued their hot streak and extended the lead to 33-15.
• Toledo cut into the lead off an 8-0 during which the Flyers had three turnovers.
• Dayton was led by Jenna Giacone in the half with 13 points and 5-6 shooting.
• The Rockets made just one three in the half-off 10 attempts.

3^rd Quarter: Dayton 49, Toledo 35

• Dayton maintained at least a 10-point lead throughout the first five minutes of the quarter despite going 2-11 from the field.
• The Flyers had nine offensive rebounds in the quarter.
• In the quarter both teams combined for just six made field goals off 22% shooting with seven turnovers.

4^th Quarter: Dayton 69, Toledo 60

• Toledo opened the quarter making back-to-back baskets to cut the lead to nine.
• Toledo continued to trim into the lead as Dayton lead 51-45 with 5:09 remaining.
• After the timeout, Giacone went on a 7-0 run by herself to make it a 13-point game.
• The Rockets answered making back-to-back 3-pointers to make it a seven-point game again.
• The Flyers finished the game making five of their final seven field goals to seal the win.

40- The Flyers lead for all 40 minutes of the game.
