DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is set to travel to Pittsburgh for the 2021 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship this weekend. After earning a first-round bye, top-seeded Dayton will square off against the winner of Friday's quarterfinal match between No. 4 Davidson and No. 5 Duquesne on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. All tournament matches will be played at Duquesne's UMPC Cooper Fieldhouse and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Dayton (23-5, 16-0 A-10) closed out its 2021 regular slate with a 3-1 win at Saint Louis on Nov. 12, extending the Flyers' winning streak to 17 matches. The 15-time A-10 regular season champs are led by senior

Scouting Davidson
Davidson (14-12, 10-6 A-10) enters the weekend enjoying a four-match winning streak, including back-to-back road wins at George Mason and George Washington. The Wildcats' 10-6 mark in league matches is their best in program history. Hattie Rodriguez leads the team with 3.28 kills/set (5th A-10) and Bella Brady gets under a league-leading 5.37 digs/set.
Scouting Duquesne
Duquesne (12-15, 7-9 A-10) dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Saint Louis on Nov. 13 in its regular season finale but the Dukes won three of their last five matches of the season. Morgan Kelly leads the team with 3.48 kills/set (3rd A-10) and Hailey Poling sets a conference-best 9.72 assists/set.
Series Stuff
Davidson: Dayton leads, 13-0
Over 13 meetings in the all-time series between the Flyers and the Wildcats, Davidson has only won one set over Dayton. The two squared off twice during the regular season with UD claiming straight-set wins on Oct. 9 in Dayton and Oct. 24 in Davidson.
Duquesne: Dayton leads, 50-4
In a series that dates back to 1990, UD and DUQ have squared off a total of 54 times. Dayton has won 14 consecutive meetings with Duquesne's last victory (3-10) was on Nov. 20, 2013 in the semifinals of the A-10 Championship.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2021 season (Nov. 14), Dayton ranked 47th according to NCAA.com. Davidson came in at 204th and Duquesne was rated 279th.
