DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will face Illinois on Friday, Nov. 26 at 2:15 p.m. to wrap-up the Daytona Beach Invitational. The game will be streamed on FloHoops.com.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the game with a 3-2 record overall and a 1-1 mark away from home this season. The Flyers will look to get back in the win column Friday against the Illini.

Head coach Shauna Green is in her sixth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year 2020, her second time at UD. She earned her 100th win at Dayton in the regular season final last year.

As a team this year, Dayton is averaging 66.0 points per game and holding opponents to 61.8 points each outing. The Flyers are shooting 40.5 percent overall, 30.0 percent from three point range, and 68.2 percent from the free throw line. UD has a +3.6 rebounding margin and committing fewer turnovers.

Dayton is led by graduate student Erin Whalen, who has team-highs of 15.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, and sophomore Makira Cook, who is contributing 15.6 points each contest.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS
Illinois kicks off its invitational with a 3-1 record on the season, all of which took place at home. The Illini play six home contests and the two neutral games before their first true road game. The lone loss this season came against SIU-Edwardsville on Nov. 18.

Head coach Nancy Fahey is in her fifth season with the Illini, but has 36 years of head coaching experience.

This season, Illinois is scoring 73.3 points each outing and allowing 68.5 points to opposing squads. The Illini are shooting 43.6 percent from the floor, 35.7 percent from behind the arc, and 66.0 percent form the charity stripe. UI is being outrebounded by a -2.8 margin, but committing fewer turnovers.

The Illini is led by Aaliyah Nye with 15.0 points and 3.0 steals per game while Jada Peebles is adding 9.5 points and 3.0 assists each contest.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton opened the Daytona Beach Invitational with a 65-54 loss to Mississippi State on Thursday. The Flyers pulled within two at the start of the fourth quarter, but then a 9-0 run gave the Bulldogs the victory. Makira Cook had a team-high 16 points.

Illinois defeated UC Riverside on Nov. 21, 86-82 at home. The Illini finished both halves strong and had five players in double digits scoring. Jada Peebles led the way with 17 points and went 8-of-9 from the free throw line.

THE SERIES
Dayton and Illinois have played three times previously with the Flyers winning all three meetings. The last time the two teams faced off was Dec. 20, 2011 in Las Vegas at the Holiday Hoops Classic with the Flyers coming out on top 80-66.
