DAYTON – The University of Dayton Women's Basketball team faced off against Florida A&M University with a 64-44 Flyer win Tuesday night.
The Flyers (5-2) dominated in their first home game since the Daytona Beach Invitational, facing the Rattlers of Florida A&M (0-5) in a powerful twenty-point win.

Jenna Giacone caps off a 9-0 Dayton scoring run with a fast-break layup, lengthening Dayton's to lead to 26 points (64-38).
1st Quarter: Dayton 12, Florida A&M 18
- Dayton started off strong, led by an early Jenna Giacone lay-up 49 seconds in.
- The Flyers pulled ahead with a 6-0 run by the first media timeout.
- The Flyer's defense forced five Rattlers turnovers in the first.
- Giacone came out hot, scoring six points while adding three assists and three rebounds.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 34, Florida A&M 22
- Grad student Erin Whalen drilled a three at the 8:26 mark to put the Flyers up 21-11.
- The Flyers held the Rattlers to a 4:01 scoring drought and forced a total of four turnovers during it.
- With 50 seconds left to play, Giacone sinks a three to pull the Flyers lead to 17 (34-17).
- Dayton dominated on the boards, winning the rebound battle 32-19 and pulling down 14 offensive rebounds (which they converted into nine second chance points).
- Freshman Brynn Soup-Hill hit her first three-pointer with 2:33 left to play.
- At the half, Giacone led the way with 13 points, while senior Kyla Whitehead grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 50, Florida A&M 33
- Dayton started the quarter by scoring five points between Cook and Whitehead in the first two minutes pulling the lead to 39-22.
- The Flyer's defense held strong and forced the Rattlers to end the quarter on a 4:30 scoring drought.
- With three seconds left to play Cook recovered a Rattler miss three, and drove a lay-up to close out the quarter, sending the Flyers' lead to 17 (50-33).
4th Quarter: Dayton 64, Florida A&M 44
- Whalen scored a game-high of 18 points with two three-pointers in the first five minutes of the quarter.
- Redshirt freshman Anna Lemaster saw her first game action of the season while freshman Shannon Wheeler played in her second career game.
- The Flyers went on the largest run of the game, going on a 9-0 run to extend the lead.
