DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated VCU on Sunday 67-62.
Dayton improved to 12-1 overall and a perfect 11-0 in conference play while VCU fell to 9-9 on the season and 7-4 in the A-10.
KEY MOMENT
2nd quarter – Dayton went on a 16-2 run over 4:49 to take a 31-28 lead. The Flyers were trailing by as much as 11 in the quarter, but still stormed back for a halftime lead.

- Giacone broke out of a slump, slicing through the lane for two consecutive layups to stretch the Dayton lead to 12.
- VCU battled back, cutting the lead to five after a 7-0 run into a media timeout at 4:12.
- Giacone hit another clutch layup, breaking a 7+ minute scoring drought, and putting the Flyers up by four with 33 seconds left.
