DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (2-1-0 overall) hosts Marshall (1-0-0) in a non-conference regular season match Sunday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. ET at Baujan Field.
This will mark the first NCAA Division I women's soccer match at Baujan Field in 493 days. The last women's soccer match at Baujan Field, UD defeated Fordham 3-0 on Oct. 24, 2019.
The match is not open to the general public but it will be streamed on ESPN+ with commentary by Alex Mikos. Live stats will be available and you can follow Dayton women's soccer social media for updates:

THE SERIES
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 2-0-0 against Marshall.
• The last meeting was Sept. 1, 2017 and a 3-0 win for the Flyers at Baujan Field.
• The first meeting was a 3-0 UD win on Sept. 5, 2003 at Baujan Field.

Itala Gemelli was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Feb. 22. Gemelli scored her first collegiate goal, a game-winner in the 86th minute against Northern Kentucky in a come-from-behind 2-1 victory for UD. The rookie from Rochester, Mich., also scored the Flyers' lone goal in a 4-1 loss to undefeated Butler. She has started all three matches for the Flyers this season.
• This season the Flyers are averaging 1.67 goals per game in the three first matches this season. All five goals have come from UD freshmen this season:

• Sophomore
Jessica Sheldon leads the Flyers with two assists. Freshmen Benigno and Wilson have one assist each, and sophomores

Marlee Taylor also have one assist apiece to their credit.
• UD returns eight starters from a squad that went 7-9-3 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play in 2019.
• However, the first three regular season matches this season, the Flyers have started all freshmen and sophomores on the field.
• Redshirt junior
Carly Becker has earned the start in goal all three matches this season and has four saves. Sophomore
Madelyn Dewey has also played 135 minutes, coming off the bench to start the second half in all three matches. Dewey is 2-0-0 on the season with six saves.
SCOUTING MARSHALL
• Marshall is 1-0-0 on the season with a 2-1 overtime, road victory against Eastern Tennessee State University on Feb. 13. Freshman Abi Hugh scored both goals for the Herd, including the golden goal in the 100th minute in the first OT.
• Sophomore Courtney McVicker got the start in goal and the win, tallying six saves.
• The season-opening win also marked the first win for first-year Marshall head coach Michael Swan.
• The Herd had a 4-14-0 overall record in 2019 and a 2-8 Conference USA record.
• Marshall has had a match postponed (vs. Davidson on Feb. 7) and a match cancelled (vs. WV Tech on Feb. 20).
