DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team defeated Duquesne 3-1 (25-16, 25-15, 26-28, 25-17), in its first home game of the season at the Frericks Center. Freshman Lexie Almodovar led the Flyers with a season and career-high 28 kills on 42 total attempts (.667%).

Dayton improves to 3-1 (1-0 Atlantic 10) on the season while Duquesne falls to 0-2, with both losses in Atlantic 10 play.

KEY STATS
• 30 - Senior Bridget Doherty had 57 of Dayton's 64 assists, including 30 in the first two sets.
• 71-42 – The Flyers had 71 kills on the night while Duquesne had 42.
• 12 – Dayton served 12 aces, while Duquesne only had three. The Dukes' first ace did not come until the third set.
• 18 – Junior Maura Collins led the Flyers with 18 digs for the match.
• 44 – Almodovar and junior Jamie Peterson combined for 44 of the Flyers' 71 kills.
