LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Dayton men's tennis team fell twice on the road at No. 19 Kentucky on Wednesday at Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center.
 
The Flyers fell to 0-4 on the season and fell by a score of 4-0 in both matches, opening the day dropping the doubles point. Sophomore Connor Bruce fell in No. 1 singles to the 45^th ranked singles competitor in the country according to ITA, Liam Draxl.
 
Freshman Erik Eliasson forced Millen Hurrion of UK to a tiebreak in the first set of No. 2 singles but failed to take the set and fell in the next set as well. Senior Will Harper dropped to Yasha Zemel in No. 4 singles to give the Wildcats the first match despite senior Steven Karl taking  a set from Alexandre Leblanc of Kentucky, who is ranked 114^th in the country in singles.
 
Dayton was narrowly bested in the doubles point of the second match of the day after sophomore Georgi Mavrodiev and Harper took the No. 3 doubles set, but the Flyers dropped the No. 1 and 2 doubles frames to give Kentucky another 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
 
Freshman Ronit Hiryur fell to Zemel in No. 4 singles in the second match to open singles play, and sophomore Oliver Dunne also fell in No. 6 singles in two sets. UK took the second match from UD after Karl lost the No. 2 singles point to Cesar Bourgois.
 
Dayton will return to action on Friday, Feb. 12 for the home opener against Youngstown State at South Regency Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
