DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's tennis team will play two home matches this weekend, beginning with a match against Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. The Flyers will follow that with a match on Saturday, Feb. 6 against UIC at 5 p.m. Both matches will take place at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg, Ohio.

UD will look to get into the win column for the first time in 2021 after falling to SIUE on Jan. 31. In the match, sophomore
Erica Wojcikiewicz highlighted the season opener with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 3 singles.

Eastern Michigan currently sits 1-1 on the season after splitting two matches last weekend. The Eagles took down Cleveland State 4-3 before falling the next day to Youngstown State 5-2. EMU has also been strong in No. 3 singles, as Luisa Pelayo has won both matches in the third flight in 2021. Emma-Lou Pommiers has also been strong, going 2-0 in No. 5 singles.

UIC dropped the season opener against Marquette 4-3 last weekend. The Flames also had a strong performance in No. 3 singles as Lucie Prochazkova won her match against the Golden Eagles. The senior has sported a winning record in all of her seasons at UIC.
