DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is heading to Pittsburgh to play two matches at Duquesne this weekend. The Flyers and Dukes will square off Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. match on Saturday as Duquesne's recently renovated UPMC Fieldhouse.

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
Duquesne (1-6, 1-6 A-10) is coming off two 3-0 losses at VCU on March 14 and 15 and the Dukes' only win of the season was a 3-0 victory over Davidson at home on March 6. The Dukes' offense is led by Morgan Kelly with 2.96 kills/set and Hailey Poling is the team's primary setter averaging 8.00 assists/set. At the net, Anita Parrott tallies 1.14 blocks/set and Ashley Larson gets under a team-high 3.43 digs/set on defense. Head coach Steve Opperman is in his 23rd season at the helm of the Dukes' program.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (7-1, 4-1 A-10) picked up two wins last week in a 3-0 win at Xavier on March 9 followed by a straight-set win at Davidson on March 12. The Flyers have not a lost a set during the month of March and the last time a team took a set from Dayton was Duquesne on Feb. 26. Jamie Peterson with 4.45 (24th NCAA). Senior
Bridget Doherty is the team's primary setter with 11.04 assists/set (21st NCAA) and Peterson serves up 0.55 aces/set (20th NCAA). On defense, freshman
Alayna Yates records 1.33 blocks/set (29th NCAA) while junior
Maura Collins passes a team-high 3.90 digs/set.
UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the regular season at home with two matches against Saint Louis March 26 and 27. The Flyers and Billikens are currently in a battle for the top spot in the A-10 West Division standings. SLU is 6-1 in league games while UD heads into this weekend with a 4-1 conference mark.
