Baseball Drops Series Finale Against Central Michigan

Alex Brickman And Mitchell Garrity Homered In The Loss

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team fell in the series finale with Central Michigan 15-4 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Flyers move to 4-14 with the loss.
 
KEY STATS
Sophomore Nick Wissman made his first career start on the mound for the Flyers, getting through the first inning before being relieved in the second.
 
Graduate student Alex Brickman gave the Flyers the lead after the first inning with a three-run home run to left field. It was Brickman's fourth home run on the season. Senior Mitchell Garrity brought home the other run on the day with his first home run of 2021 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Garrity went 3-4 on the day and now has nine career home runs as a Flyer.
 
Junior Marcos Pujols also picked up three hits in the contest, scoring on Brickman's home run and senior Riley Tirotta drew four walks and scored a run in the loss.
 
UP NEXT
The Flyers will head to Richmond, Ky. to take on Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday. First pitch for that contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Turkey Hughes Field at Earle Combs Stadium.
