Women's Tennis To Host Duquesne And Saint Louis This Weekend

Flyers Have Won Four Of Last Five Home Matches

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's tennis team will take on two Atlantic 10 opponents this weekend, the team's first conference matches of 2021. The Flyers will take on Duquesne on Friday at 3 p.m. before returning on Sunday to play Saint Louis, with that match following the conclusion of the men's 10 a.m. match against the Billikens. Both matches will take place at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.

UD enters the weekend with a 5-9 record after dropping a midweek contest at Cincinnati on Wednesday. Dayton has won four of the team's last five home matches, splitting last weekend's home contests against Xavier and West Virginia State.

Duquesne heads into Friday's contest with a 4-2 record and a 2-1 conference record with wins over St. Bonaventure and Richmond. The Dukes split last weekend, taking down the Spiders on Sunday after falling at VCU on Saturday. Duquesne features Natasha Novak and Amulika Gottiparthy having split time at No. 1 singles and the Dukes own a 6-1 record in the third singles flight with Margot Pessy and Meredith Lee each 2-0 in the flight.

Saint Louis sits at 2-5 in 2021 after dropping two matches last week against Missouri and Illinois State. The Billikens will take on Duquesne on Saturday before Sunday's match against the Flyers. Elizabeth Mintusova has been a staple at No. 1 singles, posting a 5-2 record in the top singles flight. Mintusova has paired with Mariona Perez for a 4-3 record in No. 1 doubles this season.
