DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's soccer team opened the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Championship tournament Thursday with a 1-0 loss to George Washington in the A-10 Semifinals.

The Flyers' (4-4-1) postseason comes to an end while the Colonials (5-2-2) move on to the title game Saturday.

GAME RECAP

• The Flyers controlled the tempo early on and finished with 16 shots in the game compared to the Colonials' nine attempts.
• Dayton also committed fewer fouls with 11 to GW's 17.
• Flyer senior and A-10 Offensive Player of the Year Jonas Fjeldberg left the game in the first half after a head-to-head collision with a Colonial defender.
• GW scored the game-winning goal in the 54^th minute off the header by Sandro Weber.
• Junior Kingsford Adjei led UD with six shots, four on goal. Sophomores Elias Harryson and Tolu Oladeinbo added two shots as well.
• Freshman goalkeeper had two saves in his postseason debut.
• Adjei was named to the All-Tournament Team.
