Sixth-Seeded Washington Outlasts #UDVB, 3-2, In NCAA Second Round

Peterson, Almodovar Each Post Double-Doubles

OMAHA, Neb. - The University of Dayton volleyball team fell to sixth-seeded Washington, 3-2 (25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 21-25, 15-11), Thursday evening in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This was the program's 15th appearance in the NCAA Volleyball Championship and the eighth time in program history the team has advanced to the Second Round.

Dayton wraps the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 14-2. Washington (18-3) advances to the third round and will face Louisville.

KEY STATS
• 43 - senior Bridget Doherty set 43 assists, her sixth match this season with 40+ assists; she narrowly missed the triple-double with nine kills and eight digs
• 24 - junior Maura Collins got under a match-high-tying 24 digs, her fourth 20+ dig match this season
• 20 & 13 - junior Jamie Peterson posted her fourth double-double of the season with a match-high-tying 20 kills and a season-high-tying 13 digs
• 12 & 10 - freshman Lexie Almodovar also posted a double-double, her third of the year, with 12 kills and 10 digs
• 12 - sophomore Amelia Moore was the third Flyer in double-digit kills with 12 and she tallied a match-high five blocks
• 11.0 - as a team, the Flyers recorded 11.0 total blocks compared to Washington's 7.0
