NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released the bracket and seeding for the women's tennis championship Tuesday afternoon. The Dayton women's tennis team was seeded ninth and will take on No. 8 Duquesne Wednesday, April 28 at 12 p.m. at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The winner of that match will take on top-seeded VCU on Thursday, April 29 at 3 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Each court will have a live stream of the action and the conference will also be providing live results for fans at home to follow along. Entry to the event is free but is limited to 400 spectators at one time. Spectators must wear masks at all times and if play is moved inside due to inclement weather no spectators will be allowed.

Sophomore
Erica Wojcikiewicz leads the Flyers with nine wins in dual match play this season, with seven of those wins coming in the No. 2 singles flight this season. Wojcikiewicz and sophomore
Paige Kompa are the only two who have played in the first singles flight this season. Senior
Kelly Pleiman and sophomore
Elizabeth Hamilton each enter the match with six wins in dual matches as well, while junior
Claire Ghidotti enters the tournament with a two-match winning streak.

In doubles play, Kompa and Hamilton were the main force for UD, putting up nine wins as a pair, all coming in the first doubles flight. The two are 6-4 in their last 10 matches.

This marks the second time that Dayton and Duquesne will meet this season, with Duquesne taking the match on March 26 5-2 at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
