PHILADELPHIA - The University of Dayton softball team has advanced to the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship title game with its 7-1 win over Fordham on Friday. Junior
Megan Gist's home run in the third inning kick started a four-run frame which proved to put the game out of reach.
Dayton improved to 21-24 on the season. Fordham is now 37-9 and will play in an elimination game with George Washington later today. The winner of today's second game will square off against Dayton in tomorrow's finals.

Taylor Erschen equaled her single-game career high with three RBI on what proved to be the game-winning three-run double in the third inning

Winning Pitcher:
Addy Bullis (13-6) - 7.0 IP, zero earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts to zero walks. Bullis worked her ninth complete game of the season
Losing Pitcher: Devon Miller (13-4) - 3.1 IP, three earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts to three walks
UP NEXT
Dayton advanced to the program's second appearance in the Atlantic 10 Softball Championship, its first since 2015. Third-seeded UD will face the winner of tonight's elimination game between No. 1 George Washington and No. 3 Fordham. First pitch for the finals is set for 12 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at SJU Softball Field. With a win tomorrow, Dayton will claim its first A-10 Championship title and earn the league's automatic berth in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
