DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's tennis team will play two matches this weekend, hosting Northern Kentucky Friday at 11 a.m. at South Regency Tennis Center before heading to Indianapolis Saturday for a match against IUPUI at 2:30 p.m. at West Indy Racquet Club.

The Flyers sit at 2-3 this season after falling in competitive matches against Cleveland State and Cincinnati last weekend. Against the Vikings, Dayton was one point away from taking the match with juniors
Elizabeth Hamilton and
Paige Kompa, as well as freshman
Laura Greb each picking up victories in their respective singles matches.

Kompa and Greb are each tied with freshman
Neena Katauskas for the team lead in singles wins, with all three having five to this point in the season. Kompa's win against Cleveland State put her into the Top 40 in program history in career singles wins.

Northern Kentucky will enter the contest at 1-1 this season, having played their last match back on January 15. The Norse split their opening week contests, falling at Xavier before taking all seven points against Thomas More.

Maria Koo sits tied for the team lead in singles wins with three this season and has played both of NKU's matches at the No. 1 singles position. Koo also led the Norse with seven victories last year splitting time between the top two singles flights.

IUPUI will play SIUE on Friday afternoon, but currently stands at 1-2 this season, falling at Valparaiso and Purdue, but knocking off Bellarmine at home last Friday.

Meghan Bernard leads the team with seven wins in singles play between tournament play and the team's first four matches. The Jaguars also return Krystal Grubb and Gabrielle Ochalik, who combined earned every decision in the top singles flight in 2021. Ochalik has played at No. 1 singles in all three matches this season.
