DAYTON - The 16th-ranked University of Dayton men's soccer team will travel to the University of Kentucky, who is ranked third in the nation, for a 7 p.m. showdown on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the contest with an unbeaten record of 8-0-3 overall and coming off a pair of draws in Atlantic 10 action. The Flyers are 4-0-1 on the road this season.

Dennis Currier is in his 18th season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the 2020 season.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 2.73 goals per game and holding opponents to just 0.55 goals each outing. UD is out-shooting opponents 22.4 to 6.5 per contest and at a higher percentage.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
No. 3 KENTUCKY
Kentucky hosts Dayton as the No. 1 ranked team in the RPI and third overall in the national rankings according to the United Soccer Coaches. The Wildcats are 8-0-2 on the year and 3-0-1 in Sun Belt play. UK is on a four-game winning streak and has not lost at home since March 18, 2020 to eventual national champions Marshall.
Head coach Johan Cedergren is in his 10th year at UK and is a three-time Conference USA Coach of the Year.
The Wildcats are scoring 2.8 goals per game and allowing just 0.8 goals to opposing squads. Kentucky is also out-shooting opponents 16.9 to 7.1 and at a higher percentage.
Leading UK is Nick Gutmann with four goals and six assists while Eythor Bjorgolfsson is chipping in six goals and one assist. The Wildcats have split time in goal with Casper Mols (5 games), Ryan Jack (2 games), and Isaac Walker (5 games) all getting a share.
LAST OUTING
Dayton went on the road to A-10 newcomer Loyola Chicago and earned a point after a 0-0 draw. In a tough affair that saw nine yellow cards, the Flyers were able to hold on for their sixth shutout of the season.
Kentucky picked up its eighth win of the season with a 6-0 victory over Georgia Southern Saturday night at home. The Wildcats scored two first half goals and added a couple more in the second half to seal the win.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and UK have played four times previously with the Flyers and Wildcats splitting two wins apiece. The two teams last met in 2021 with the 10th-ranked Wildcats earning a 3-1 win in Dayton.
ATTACK MINDED
The Flyers are one of the most dangerous offenses in the country as they lead the nation shots per game and shots on goal per game. Dayton also ranks second in goal differential, and third in scoring offense.
FLYERS RANKED 16TH IN USC POLL
In the latest United Soccer Coaches national rankings, Dayton moved up to 16th in the country after being No. 19 last week. The Flyers achieved their highest ranking ever, and it's the fourth season in which they have been in the Top 25 (19th in 2013, 21st in 2009, 22nd in 2008).
BROWN NAMED A-10 DEF. PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior defender
Logan Brown was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3 after guiding the Flyers to wins over West Virginia and George Mason while allowing just one goal and earning their fifth shutout. Brown added an assist on the offensive end as well.
