DAYTON - The 22nd-ranked University of Dayton men's soccer team will return home after a three-game road stretch to host VCU Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the game with a 8-0-4 record overall and 2-0-3 Atlantic 10 mark. The Flyers are coming off three-straight ties, including a 2-2 draw at No. 2 Kentucky Wednesday. UD is 4-0-1 at home this season.
Head coach
Dennis Currier is in his 18th season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the 2020 season.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 2.67 goals per game and allowing just 0.67 to opposing teams. UD is out-shooting opponents 21.3 to 7.5 and has six shutouts this year.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
VCU
VCU comes to Dayton with a 1-6-5 record overall and going 1-0-3 in A-10 play. The Rams are 1-4-2 on the road this season with the lone win coming at Davidson on Oct. 8.
Head coach Dave Giffard is in his 13th season at VCU and is a former A-10 Coach of the Year.
The Rams are scoring 0.83 goals per game and giving up 1.83 goals to opponents. VCU is also being out-shot 19.8 to 7.7 per contest.
Leading the way for the Rams is Camilo Comi, who has three goals and one assist in 12 games while Jean-Claude Bile has three goals as well in just nine appearances.
LAST OUTING
Dayton went on the road in a tough environment at No. 2 Kentucky Wednesday and battled to a 2-2 draw against the Wildcats. The Flyers led after just one minute thanks to a goal from senior defender
Logan Brown, but UK managed to equalize late and stay unbeaten on the year.
VCU squared off against North Carolina, who was receiving votes, and suffered a 1-0 loss Tuesday. The Tar Heels scored the decisive goal in the 82nd minute while the Rams only recorded one shot in the game.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and VCU have met nine times in program history with the Rams holding a 5-4 win advantage over the Flyers. The two teams faced off Sept. 25 last season as VCU earned a 2-0 victory at home to earn the series lead.
ATTACK MINDED
The Flyers are one of the most dangerous offenses in the country as they lead the nation shots per game and shots on goal per game. Dayton also ranks third in goal differential, and eighth in scoring offense.
FLYERS RANKED 22nd IN USC POLL
In the latest United Soccer Coaches national rankings, Dayton sits at 22nd in the country after being No. 16 last week. The Flyers achieved their highest ranking ever, and it's the fourth season in which they have been in the Top 25 (19th in 2013, 21st in 2009, 22nd in 2008).
BROWN NAMED A-10 DEF. PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior defender
Logan Brown was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3 after guiding the Flyers to wins over West Virginia and George Mason while allowing just one goal and earning their fifth shutout. Brown added an assist on the offensive end as well.
