DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team battled back from a 2-1 deficit against George Washington to claim a 3-2 (25-17, 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 15-10) win Saturday evening at Frericks Center. Three Flyers tallied double-digit kills led by sophomore
Lexie Almodovar with a match-high 23. With the win, Dayton moves into sole possession of third place in Atlantic 10 standings.
Dayton improves to 14-10 on the season and 8-3 in league games while George Washington moves to an even 12-12 overall and 6-5 in conference contests.

Alyssa Miller posted her second double-double of the season with 48 assists and
23 - Almodovar recorded a season-high-tying 23 kills to lead all attackers in the match, her fourth 20+-kill match of the season

Grace Dynda led the Flyers with 15 digs; she also had five kills, four blocks and three aces

Anna Wuensch was the third Flyer with double-digit digs with 13

Amelia Moore collected 12 kills, the 12th time this season the middle blocker has had 10+ kills, to go with six blocks and three aces
10 - for the third time this season Dayton served up double-digit aces with 10
UP NEXT
Dayton is scheduled to play three matches next week, kicking off with a single midweek match at Duquesne on Oct. 25. The Flyers and Dukes are set to square off at 5 p.m. at Duquesne's UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
