DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team will be in Pittsburgh tomorrow to take on Duquesne. The Flyers and Dukes are set to square at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Duquesne's UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in the pair's second match up this season.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (14-10, 8-3 A-10) currently sits alone in third place standings among Atlantic 10 teams after winning six of its last seven matches, including two wins over George  Washington this past weekend. As a team, Dayton ranks second in the league with a .219 hitting percentage and 2.46 blocks/set. The Flyers' are led by sophomore 
Lexie Almodovar with 3.94 kills/set (1st A-10) and 4.58 points/set (1st A-10) while junior 
Amelia Moore carries the team's best hitting percentage (.356 - 2nd A-10) and ranks second in the league with 1.40 blocks/set. With 130 total blocks on the season, Moore ranks second in all of NCAA Division I while senior 
Grace Dynda ranks 35th nationally with 36 service aces on the year.
ABOUT DUQUESNE
Duquesne (5-18, 2-9 A-10) split its two-game A-10 series at George Mason last weekend, dropping a 3-0 loss to the Patriots Friday before rallying to get the straight-set win on Saturday. The Dukes' offense is led by Morgan Kelly with 2.75 kills/set (9th A-10) and Hailey Poling serves as the team's primary setter with 8.52 assists/set (2nd A-10). On defense, Madison Grimm gets under 3.49 digs/set (9th A-10) and Ariel Helm is the team's leading blocker with 1.01 blocks/set (8th A-10).
SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 52-4
In a series that dates back to 1990, Dayton has won 52 of the 56 all-time meetings between the two teams. The Flyers have won 16 straight against the Dukes including a 3-0 win at home on Oct. 4.
RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's first Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on Oct. 23, Dayton ranked 135th according to NCAA.com. Duquesne is ranked 326th.
LAST TIME OUT
On Saturday, Dayton outlasted visiting George  Washington, 3-2, in a five-set battle that took two hours and 14 minutes. Three Flyers tallied double-digit kills led by sophomore 
Lexie Almodovar with a match-high 23 and sophomore 
Alyssa Miller recorded her second career double-double with 48 assists and 12 digs.

Tim Horsmon is in his 14th season overall, and ninth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2022. His record at Dayton is 337-100 and his career win-loss mark sits at 513-264 in 24 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's winningest coach after surpassing R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last 14 seasons (2009-2022), the Flyers have recorded a 176-17 (.912) mark in regular season Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2016, 2015 and 2012, a 15-0 record in 2010 and a 16-0 mark in 2021. • In the program's 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, Dayton has reached the Second Round nine times and the Flyers hold a 9-16 all-time record in NCAA tourney matches.
• During the 2014 season, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program to become just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers entered the 2022 season ranked 12th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,193-607 (.663) over 52 seasons (1970).
• The Flyers finished the 2021 season with a 26-6 overall record and a 16-0 Atlantic 10 mark, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2021 was the program's 43rd winning season.
