DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is headed to Fairfax, Virginia, for two Atlantic 10 matches at George Mason this weekend. Dayton and George Mason are scheduled to play Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Patriot's Recreation Athletic Complex.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (9-9, 3-2 A-10) heads into the weekend after picking up a 3-0 win over Duquesne at home on Tuesday. Sophomore outside hitter
Lexie Almodovar leads the A-10 with 3.83 kills/set and 4.47 points/set and ranks fifth with 0.41 aces/set while junior setter
Livie Sandt paces the league with 8.81 assists/set. Junior middle blocker
Amelia Moore leads the team with a .339 hitting percentage (3rd A-10) and has collected 97 total blocks on the season which ranks third in all of NCAA DI. As a team, the Flyers stuff 2.48 blocks/set (2nd A-10).
SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
George Mason (5-11, 1-4 A-10) is coming off a close 3-2 loss at home this past Tuesday against
George Washington. Mason's lone A-10 win over the season was a straight-set sweep of VCU in its conference opening on Sept. 23. The Patriots' offense is led by Olyvia Kennedy who records 2.70 kills/set and Damiana Bova-Ford sets 4.50 assists/set. On defense, Stephanie Dar gets under a team-best with 4.27 digs/set (4th A-10) and Peyton Ehmke stuffs 0.92 blocks/set at the net.
SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 14-0
In a series dating only back to 2001, Dayton has won all 14 meetings between the two teams. The Flyers have won 15-consecutive sets over the Patriots and UD has only dropped a total of four sets to Mason. The pair last squared off in Dayton on Nov. 5, 2021 as the Flyers claimed the 3-0 win.
RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's first Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2022 season, Dayton ranked 165th according to NCAA.com. George Mason is ranked 263.

Tim Horsmon is in his 14th season overall, and ninth since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2022. His record at Dayton is 332-99 and his career win-loss mark sits at 508-263 in 24 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's winningest coach after surpassing R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last 14 seasons (2009-2022), the Flyers have recorded a 171-16 (.914) mark in regular season Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2016, 2015 and 2012, a 15-0 record in 2010 and a 16-0 mark in 2021.
