FAIRFAX, Va. - The University of Dayton volleyball team posted its third win of the week with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-22) win at George Mason Saturday afternoon. As a team, Dayton posted a .340 hitting percentage including sophomore
Lindsey Winner's .625 outing with five kills to zero errors in eight attempts.
Dayton improves to 11-9 on the season and 5-2 in conference play while George Mason finishes the weekend with a 5-13 overall mark and a 1-6 record in league action.
KEY STATS
31 - sophomore
Alyssa Miller set a match-high 31 assists to go with a career-high four blocks
14 - sophomore
Lexie Almodovar led all attackers with a match-high 14 kills, the only player in the match with double-digit kills
11 - freshman
Emily Young led the Flyers with 11 digs, her third double-digit dig match of the season
8 - junior
Amelia Moore recorded a match-high eight blocks to go with seven kills (.538) and three service aces
UP NEXT
Dayton will continue its four-match road stint with with a return trip to Virginia next weekend. The Flyers are set two play two matches against the VCU Rams Oct. 14-15 at the Rams' Siegel Center in Richmond. VCU and UD will square off at 1 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday in Atlantic 10 action.
