ST. LOUIS - The University of Dayton volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-15, 25-23) to Atlantic 10 regular season champions Loyola Chicago in the finals of the 2022 A-10 Championship. The Flyers, who were making their ninth-consecutive appearance in the league tourney title match, were led by sophomore Lexie Almodovar with 20 kills and just one dig shy of a double-double. The three-day postseason tournament was held at Saint Louis' Chaifetz Pavilion.

Dayton closes out the postseason conference tournament with a 20-14 overall record, the program's 34th 20-win season. Loyola, which earned the league's automatic bid into the 2022 NCAA Tournament, improves to 25-8 overall.

KEY STATS
32 & 10 - sophomore Alyssa Miller posted her second-consecutive and fifth of the season double-double with 32 assists and 10 digs
20 - Almodovar tallied a team-best 20 kills in the match, her sixth match of the season with 20 or more kills
11 - freshman Taylor Russell was the second Flyer in double-digit kills with 11, her third-consecutive match in double figures
11 & 10 - sophomore Anna Wuensch got under a team-best 11 digs to go with 10 assists for her second-consecutive double-double
4 - sophomore Alayna Yates led the Flyer block with four assisted blocks on the afternoon

ALL-CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
For the third-consecutive season, Almodovar was named to the All-Championship Team. She was joined on the team by Miller, her first All-Championship Team honor.

UP NEXT
The 2022 Division I NCAA selection show will be Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Loyola earned the league's automatic bid.
