NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its end-of-season awards for men's soccer Tuesday and recognized numerous University of Dayton student-athletes for their accomplishments this season.

Freshman Basit Umar earned A-10 Rookie of the Year honors for his efforts this year, his debut season with the Flyers. He has totaled eight points with three goals and two assists, and has started all 16 games this season.

Senior Xavier Zengue was named First Team All-Conference as a defender while fellow seniors Forster Ajago and Jaden Jones-Riley joined Umar on the Second Team.

Umar was selected to the All-Rookie Team as well, joining fellow freshmen Dario Caetano, Joseph Melto Quiah, and Casper Svendby, who each receive the honor as well. The Flyers had the most chosen to the team.

Dayton is preparing for the A-10 Semifinals on Wednesday when the Flyers will take on No. 1 seed Saint Louis. UD is 10-2-4 overall and was ranked in the Top 25 nationally or receiving votes for nine straight weeks this season.
