BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Dayton softball team opened the weekend with a 5-0 loss at Western Kentucky Friday evening. It was both teams' first game of the WKU Hilltopper Spring Fling after tournament schedule changes were made due to field conditions following rain in the area Thursday.
Dayton moves to 1-5 on the season while Western Kentucky is now (9-1) overall.

Grace Gressly tallied a season-high six putouts from behind the plate
• 2 - freshman
Emma Schutter was 2-for-4 from the plate and collected one stolen base on the day
