KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Dayton softball team split its Atlantic 10 opening doubleheader at Rhode Island Wednesday. The Flyers claimed a 10-1 win in game one before falling to the Rams 9-3 in the nightcap.
Dayton is now 5-12 overall and 1-1 in A-10 games while Rhode Island is also 5-12 on the season and 1-1 in league action.
GAME ONE
Dayton 10, Rhode Island 1
• 8 - the Flyers combined for eight hits compared to the Rams' two hits
• 3 - senior
Alyssa Cacini collected three RBI on two hits and she scored two runs

UP NEXT
Dayton and Rhode Island will close out their three-game series Sunday with a single game at URI Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 11:30 a.m., moved up 30 minutes from its original start time due to forecasted inclement weather in the area.
