NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team picked up two wins on the first day of play at the Lipscomb Purple & Gold Challenge. Dayton opened the day with a 4-2 win over College of Charleston in extra innings and came from behind to best host Lipscomb, 5-4, in the nightcap.
Dayton is now 3-9 on the season. College of Charleston will start off Saturday's play with a 5-12 overall mark while Lipscomb is now 4-12 for the year.

Dayton 4, College of Charleston 2 (8 inn.)

Alyssa Cacini recorded a career-high 11 putouts playing at first base

Grace Gressly recorded three RBI on two hits while collecting six putouts from behind the plate
